I styled our website like an IRC chatroom, similar to the one Olina and I met in, back in 2003. It works best on PCs. [13:44] <tim> it's okay, I'll always keep you warm <3. [13:44] <tim> anyways, the chatroom Olina and I first met in was called #AnimeLab. We were both 13, and back then I knew her by her online handle, 'Aeris' [13:44] * olina is now known as Aeris [13:44] <Aeris> and tim was 'ckx'! [13:44] * tim is now known as ckx [13:44] <ckx> we still use IRC today, with these same handles [13:44] <ckx> Olina lived in Hawaii, and I lived in Michigan, so the time difference was 6 hours. I'd regularly stay up until 5am chatting with her, but it was worth it, as talking with each other was the most fun we ever had. [13:44] <ckx> we were already in love at that time, but as kids, our long distance relationship didn't last forever. it was unrealistic to be together. We slowly drifted apart, but always kept each other close in our hearts. [13:44] <Aeris> NO SMART PHONES BACK THEN!!! It was hard to track each other down sometimes! but we always found each other, and i sent lots of letters over the years! [13:44] <ckx> I loved your letters. I always put them in a special place, even after I moved to California in 2016. I still have them all now: [13:44] <ckx> then, in early 2020, 17 years later, we finally came together and met: [13:44] * ckx is now known as tim [13:44] * Aeris is now known as olina [13:44] <olina> it was fun to see each other in California and Hawaii! some photos from then: [13:44] <tim> after we saw each other in real life, we couldn't go back to long distance. [13:44] <tim> so, after a few months of long distance, Olina moved in with me in California, and now we can always be together <3. Since then, we've been living happily [13:44] <tim> doing things like, going on dates together... [13:44] <olina> eating together! [13:44] <tim> celebrating together: [13:44] <olina> ALL THE THINGS TOGETHER!!! [13:44] <olina> and with our kitties ragna and noel too! [13:44] <tim> until finally, we were engaged! [13:44] <tim> now, we're getting married on the 13th of april, just a few days from writing this. Our small wedding is in Big Sur, California. [13:44] <olina> YAAAAAAY! Our ceremony is an elopement with only 10 people, but we appreciate and love all of you! [13:44] <tim> we plan to hold a dinner reception in Hawaii soon as well.
